The fact is you may have some issues with keeping a wolf or a wolf hybrid within a household as they can become difficult to deal with as they grow older. It is indeed tough to trust them around small children and animals. Plus there is a problem of many places in urban areas not allowing the keeping of such animals.But there are some breeds of dogs that have a bit of wolf in them going back a few generations. You will be better off going for one of these as this would mean the dog resembles a wolf though it still remaining a dog.

Siberian Husky Dog:
These pretty well known, enough to be easily recognized. Though the dogs that do not have the typical characteristics look more like wolves. These are bred by Chukchi tribes of Siberia and used to pull sleds. Though used domestically they have a wolf like look with double coat, erect ears and the tail that is heavily turned. They are smaller than the wolf and can weigh about 25 kgs or even lesser.
